BUILDING TRANS-GENERATIONAL TOURISM FOR AFRICA.

Certainly persuaded; that the world will have been tensioned without tourism.Assured; that future tourism has much role to play in making the world a special and beautiful one to live.

“The use of traveling is to regulate imagination by reality, and instead of thinking how things may be, to see them as they are.”.

The very things we enjoy as pleasant in sight and experience; economically beneficial to the present generation must also be kept for the benefit of tomorrow generation.

This passage of reading seek to point out the factors that if looked at can help sustain the joy of tourism to be passed on to the next generation intact and beneficial.

SUGGESTIVE PRINCIPLES THAT NEEDS TO BE IMPLEMENTED TO ENABLE SUSTAINABLE TOURISM IN AFRICA;

Sustainable tourism is a kind of approach to tourism meant to make the development of tourism ecologically supportable in the long term.

Thereby maximising the positive impact of tourism and minimising its negatives.

There are 3 major principles to look at in sustainable tourism and these are ;

1.Sustainable Business Practices

2.Community Development,

3.Environmental Stewardship.

These are the key principles that needs to be looked at ;

1.Management of the Tourism sector by tourism experts.(A tourism devoid of political harassment)

2.A tourism that educates the Local community of its longterm benefit.. That is promoting community based Tourism(CBT).

3.A tourism that emphasis on environmental conservation; projecting policies that enhances environmental protection.Also, Setting up of high recycling companies and agencies to depollute our environments.

4.We must promote the use of our local products to ensure that money attained from Tourism does not fly out to other countries.  This will help us have more to develop the Tourism industry and thereby avoiding tourism Leakages.

5. If Tourism may be sustained; Tourism must be a priority and must be seen as a major tool for national development. Which means there should be conscious efforts from the government to invest in the industry.

6. Building Tourism destinations that is seen as “OURS” And not “THEIRS”. That means Tourism must be made to be seen as an asset to everyone.. in this manner each one will serve as a watch person for our Tourism facilities.

7.We must do our possible best make our country peaceful and strive to attain a crime free territory as instability of peace is threat to international Tourism.

8.Our culture must stand out in uniqueness and we must stay true to it. No Acculturations!

9.We must promote privatisation; we must allow private individuals to invest in tourism. This will help increase support systems in the Tourism industry.

In conclusion; Africa stands on our heritage; we stand on our culture ;we stand on our environment. The core worth of us depends on these things. We are as powerful to the degree to which we sustain these.

Advocate for sustainability.
